Chapter 8

When she roused, it was to find she was no longer bound to the swing. In fact, she wasn’t even in the playroom. Instead, she was lying back against Dillon’s solid chest and his arms were wrapped around her as the tub filled.

Despite the warmth of the water and the heat of the man holding her so close, she shivered. When he’d first given her the order to go downstairs, to kneel, to wait for him, she’d felt a rush of doubt run through her, clouding the cloak of arousal that he’d already begun to wrap her in. She was falling fast… faster than she ever believed possible and that scared her a bit. What if she was the only one feeling this way? Was she the only one to feel hope that this could develop into something beyond special… something extraordinary? It had taken her a moment to banish her doubt and accept her need to find those answers. She had no problem accepting that Dillon wouldn’t hurt her… at least not physically. It was her heart she was concerned about. But, she’d never find the truth unless she took a chance. And she’d been right. He had pushed her limits but, God, it had been amazing. She groaned and turned her head to look up at him. “Thank you. That was… that was the most incredible thing I’ve ever experienced.”

He bent and kissed her. “I’m glad you enjoyed it… several times in fact.” She felt her face heat at the memory of splintering apart several times.

“God, don’t you ever stop doing that.”

“What, passing out from the best sex I’ve never even imagined was possible?”

“No, well… yes, but I meant don’t ever stop blushing. I love watching the color bloom in your breasts and move up to stain your cheeks pink.”

Smiling, she reached up to stroke his cheek. “I can absolutely assure you that won’t be a problem as long as you, Sir, continue to do the things you do so very well.”

He bent to kiss her. “Then my life will be full of pretty blushes for I certainly don’t intend to stop.”

Charlie felt her heart hitch. He’d said things like that before, said he’d spend the rest of time holding her… could that be true? This man had become her friend months ago but in the last two days, had become her lover, her dominant, and as she’d feared, was quickly becoming her very heart. She lived in Texas… he in Virginia. So many miles apart that it made her ache to think of them.

“Charlie, you okay?”

“Yes, I’m just a little tired.”

“Then let’s get you washed and tucked into bed. You didn’t get much sleep last night.”

“Neither did you,” she said as he held her tightly to him and then reached to turn off the taps.

“Come to think of it, you’re absolutely right. Guess that means I’ll have to take a nap too.” He reached for a washcloth and squirted some bath gel onto it. “Bend forward.” She did and he began to run the sudsy cloth over her shoulders and her back.
